About Us

Peter L. Johnston, Esquire is an accomplished attorney with a proven track record of satisfying clients in a broad array of cases. Mr. Johnston has since 1996 been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and all other state courts in Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of New Jersey and all other state courts in New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He is a member of the Brehon Law Society of Philadelphia, an association of attorneys of Irish descent in the greater Philadelphia area. He has also been a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association and American Bar Association.  He has, in the past, provided pro bono legal services for the Nationalities Services Center in Philadelphia. He has also been designated by the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County to sit as an arbitrator in civil cases.

Mr. Johnston graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1996 where, as a student, he gained valuable experience as an advocate representing disadvantaged clients through its Center for Social Justice. He is also a proud alumnus of Saint Joseph’s University where in 1991 he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History, a minor in Theology and a Faith-Justice Studies Certificate. In addition, he was awarded the university’s Faith-Justice Award.

Raised in New Jersey, Mr. Johnston has proudly adopted Philadelphia as his home and currently resides in the Roxborough section of the city where he is a Democratic City Committeeperson, a capacity in which he advocates on behalf of members of his community before the party apparatus and city government. He is a member of Amnesty International and the Sierra Club. He is also an avid bicyclist and skier and fan and longtime season-ticket holder of the Philadelphia Phillies and Saint Joseph’s University Hawks men’s basketball team. He is also a member of Old St. Joseph’s Church in Old City, Philadelphia and of the Gloucester City Irish Society.

The practice is headquartered at the historic Bye-Benson House located at 2033 Walnut Street in Center City, Philadelphia (a location which is convenient to parking facilities and public transportation) with an additional office at 44 Cooper Street, Suite 4, Woodbury, New Jersey. Mr. Johnston is capably assisted by his legal assistant Patricia Richardson.
